Step 1. Set the corners first. Make sure the string is hanging inside the step. Place a neoprene washer, neoprene side down on the screw. Drive the screw into the slot of the clip (as shown in step 1). Tighten the screw enough to hold the corner in place. Making sure the plastic clip can be removed later in the process.

Note: The side pieces, can be cut now or left long until you are ready to put the rest of the forms around the pool.

Step 2. Cut the middle and side pieces to length. Fasten the middle and side pieces down the same way as the corners.

Step 3. Place a metal angle on the back of all straight pieces. To do this, peel the paper off the two sided tape. Stick the angle, flush with the top of the form (as shown in picture).

Step 4. Put the tie wires in place. The wire needs to be pushed through the top part of the form, and be angled down to the back lip of the steps. Hold the form plumb, and bend the tail of the wire under the step’s edge. Space the tie wires every 8 inches. There are holes in the metal angle for the wires.

Step 5. While pouring, make sure to tap the forms to release air bubbles. This will help prevent honeycombing

Step 6. Once the concrete is strong enough to support its own weight, the forms can be removed. To remove the forms, twist the tie wire head. It will break the wire inside the concrete. Bend the plastic clips back.

Step 7. Use string to saw form free from clip.

Step 8. Pull the form away. To remove the clips, wiggle them back and forth until the clips break loose, then pull them straight out.

Step 9. Finish in the voids left by the clips. Use your profile edging tool for the final finish.

Note: Removing the forms one piece at a time will help keep the moisture in the concrete to allow adequate time to finish.
